Created by the Yves and Inez Oltramare Foundation, the Open Sky Institute \u2013 Science and Spirituality is a Swiss non-profit foundation registered in Geneva and authorized by the Cantonal Authority for Foundation Supervision (ASFIP Gen\u00e8ve). It is a patronage organization in support of research and education, aimed at fostering the development and sharing of knowledge at local, national, and international levels.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Former partner of the private bank Lombard Odier, Yves Oltramare has had a career as rich as his thinking. In addition to his roles on the boards of directors of some of the most prominent institutions in Swiss and international economic life, he served for thirty years on the Investment Committee of the United Nations Pension Fund.<\/p>\n

In the scientific field, he notably chaired the Louis-Jeantet Foundation for Medicine. His deep humanism and his contribution to promoting Geneva beyond national borders earned him the Fondation pour Gen\u00e8ve Prize in 1995.<\/p>\n

His philosophical convictions are also reflected in the publication of his 2019 book, Tu seras rencontreur d’Homme<\/em>, published by Labor and Fides.<\/p>\n

The origin of life and the Universe remains a mystery. This primal origin, or ‘First Cause,’ is an essential and common object of both scientific research and spiritual inquiry. This object is the subject of a quest \u2013 called the quest for truth or meaning \u2013 that has long been expressed through prominent figures in the history of science who themselves incorporate a full ontological and metaphysical dimension into their scientific reflection.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/section>\n\n\n

From the 17th to the 20th centuries, this notably includes Blaise Pascal, Isaac Newton, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, Albert Einstein, and Georges Lema\u00eetre.
