Science & Spirituality
An interdisciplinary dialogue between the natural sciences and the humanities on the physical and metaphysical questions related to the origin of life and the Universe.
MISSION
The Open Sky Institute – Science and Spirituality, created by the Yves and Inez Oltramare Foundation, aims to support academic research and the sharing of knowledge with the widest audience by promoting an interdisciplinary dialogue between the natural sciences and the humanities on the physical and metaphysical questions related to the origin and destiny of the Universe and life.

ACTIVITIES

Research
The Institute explores the major questions concerning the place and meaning of humanity in the Universe. Our interdisciplinary approach integrates the natural sciences, including astronomy, physics, biology, and chemistry, and the humanities, notably philosophy, theology, and history, with the aim of making discoveries in these disciplines accessible to all.

Public engagements
We organize convenings and public lectures to foster dialogue between researchers and the general public. These events allow us to share research advancements in all scientific disciplines and to explore together the metaphysical questions they raise.
